Occlusal dentistry

Occlusal dentistry is a branch of orthodontic dentistry, which aims to restore correct functionalityto all parts of the masticatory system. This involves, equally, efficient contact between the patient’s upper and lower teeth (dental occlusion), asymptomatic functioning of the reflexes in the muscles of mastication, and the position of the jaws.

The term occlusal dentistry applies to all treatment that focuses on dysfunctional occlusion.
