The actual difference lies in the power of the device, which is made up of a high-voltage electric current with an increased sinusoid frequency.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>ultrasonic micro-vibrations<\/strong> on the oscillating cutting inserts, which range from 28 kHz to 36 kHz, make it possible to cut the bone without harming the soft tissues. This means that the surgery can be performed with precision and greater control, and therefore minimizes any post-operative stress for the patient.<\/p>\n<p>In surgery, this technique is mainly used for dental extractions, periodontology, endodontics during an apicoectomy, implantology and maxillofacial surgery.
